A list of our favourite hairstyles on gentleman celebrities and why they inspire us. Make sure to pick up some tips and ideas from some of the most suave men in Hollywood.
No. 5: Simon Baker
Having starred in hit TV series “The Mentalist” and Hollywood blockbuster “The Devil Wears Prada”, Baker made a name for himself as one of the most well-styled gentlemen in Hollywood. In 2013 Givenchy signed him on as their gentleman’s style icon as he headed up their “Gentlemen Only” fragrance campaign and he soon became well associated with the term. His windswept blonde hairstyle is iconic and compliments his suave, well-groomed style whilst at the same time appearing natural. This look is extremely versatile as it suits both casual and smart attire, highly recommended for men with medium-to-long wavy hair.
No. 4: Gerard Butler
Having been L’Oreal’s male grooming poster boy, as well as a renowned fitness icon thanks to his roles in “Law Abiding Citizen” and “300”, Butler has proven that even the most rugged men in Hollywood can be well groomed. His “suits & stubble” style has been loved by both fans and professionals as masculine in appearance and certainly one for the outdoor gent. This hairstyle is best incorporated with short hair and compliments facial hair very well whether used with a smart or casual outfit.
No. 3: Chris Hemsworth
The “Home & Away” star shot to superstar fame after his title role in “Thor” and soon his style had become well recognised. His command of gentleman’s style is well renowned to the point where Empire magazine named him 6th in their Top 100 Sexiest Movie stars in 2013. His newer roles including “Rush” have seen him sport a variety of hairstyles but his classic swept-back look worn at most red carpet events has been a true representation of male grooming. We recommend this to compliment smart outfits and generally used with medium-to-long hair lengths.
No. 2: David Beckham
It’s remarkably hard to talk about men’s grooming and style without mentioning David Beckham, a footballer turned fashion icon he is one of the definitive icon of male trends. With fragrance, sportswear and clothing lines he is constantly influencing male fashion whilst his grooming styles have changed the way we view suaveness and clean-cut dressing. This hairstyle smartens up both casual and tailored outfits but does require well maintained facial hair to pull it off. Recommended for men with medium length, straight hair.
No. 1: Justin Timberlake
As he promised back in 2006, Justin Timberlake has indeed brought “sexy back” with the reinvention of his image. After a few years away from the music industry, spent mainly working in movies such as “About Time” and “Friends with Benefits”, he returned with a new clean-cut style to go with his hit single “Suit & Tie” and the release of his album “20/20”. A firm favourite here at The Male Stylist his short, swept-back look encompasses the greatest ideal of gentleman’s style and is a timeless look. Recommended for men with short-to-medium length hair it’s easy to style and maintain.
