This outfit was one requested several times by multiple readers, a few weeks back, asking what a gent would wear to a festival or outdoor gig. The main focus was to incorporate tailoring into a smartened festival theme, not necessarily for Glastonbury but maybe for an all-day concert in the park.
By using a grey waistcoat over the y-neck shirt, the outfit is given a sharper feel whilst slimming the waist and broadening the chest. The black jeans elongate the legs and provide a dark contrast against the lighter colours of the torso. Finally, the ensemble is accessorised with dark tan boots and belt to complement the look by subtly complimenting the darker colours.
The inspiration for this outfit comes partially from Tom Hiddleston’s waistcoat outfits as well as the themes incorporated in many indie bands’ wardrobes (such as Mumford & Sons). It’s a comfortable and easy-to-wear piece that requires minimal maintenance, it can be worn on a night out with friends or, as mentioned before, to a gig or festival.
