What A Gent’s Wearing: Casual Italian Style

IMG_2868

This week’s outfit is inspired by the recent re-invention of casual Italian styling in men’s fashion, something we’ve been writing and tweeting about a great deal in recent weeks. As well as being very comfortable it also works really well in very hot temperatures, ensuring you stay cool and relaxed in the summer heat.

This idea of using cream/white chinos and a navy polo provides an easy yet stylish contrast that uses classic styling and contemporary colours. The darker polo slims the torso and matches the navy espadrilles to create definition whilst the cream chinos brighten the entire ensemble. The use of either a black or dark tan belt would be appropriate here to help subtly separate the top and bottom elements of the outfit. Finally the chinos are rolled up slightly to add an “Italian flair” to the outfit and create that look of a stroll along the rivieira in summer. You can easily accessorize this with a light blue/white sweater loosely tied around the neck, thereby accommodating cooler evenings.

This was a new style here at The Male Stylist and one we’re glad we attempted, it’s such an effortless and comfortable style that any man should be able to pull it off. Easily put together and fit for a day in the sun, this will help any gent look sharp and stylish with an air of Mediterranean masculinity.
