We were fortunate enough to be invited to the SS15 shows for Oliver Sweeney and Russell & Bromley last Thursday to see their upcoming collections and discuss the inspirations behind their designs. We’ll not say a lot about each range as we feel the shoes themselves do all of the talking.
The company has been focusing on using fabrics that compliment and enhance their designs, rather than simply blend in. Their use of buffalo and camel leather as well as denim and patterned cloth have really brought their newer styles to life in a way that is both eye-catching and sharp.
Much of the inspiration for this season’s designs comes from the Italian riveira, and Russell & Bromley are not afraid to show off their elegant styles using a variety of fabrics and styles. Their suede loafers and brogues are a real statement of seasonal trends whilst their black, woven leather shoes show off classic elegance with contemporary Italian style.
We loved attending both shows and can’t wait to see these hit the shelves next season. Let us know what you think of both collections in the comments below and be sure to share this with your friends and followers. As always don’t forget to subscribe for updates, new posts and competitions from The Male Stylist.
