4 Hacks To Keep Your Skin Clear

Acne and spots affect men of all ages and skin types. They can be painful, unsightly and ultimately reduce your confidence in the way you look and feel. However, there are some easy changes you can make to your lifestyle to keep your skin clear and reduce the chances of spots. We’ve put together 4 easy ways to help reduce acne and/or keep your skin clearer in the future

1) Drink Herbal Tea

Teas rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins are a great way to ensure your skin has everything it needs to fight bacteria and re-produce skin cells efficiently. Red Clover tea is especially beneficial for skin health as it acts as a natural blood purifier which in turn helps keep acne and spots at bay.

2) Replace Your Pillowcases

Dirty pillowcases are a leading cause of spots and acne, yet more often than not they can go unnoticed. Dead skin cells, sweat and dirt can build up on the cloth which is then transferred to your skin each night you sleep. Fortunately, there are specialised pillowcases that are designed to help fight spots.

SleepClean have designed and produce pillowcases that actively fight the build-up of bacteria that are commonly associated with acne and spot formation. We were lucky enough to get our hands on one to try over two weeks to see if it can actively help clear up our skin. The pillowcase itself feels just like your regular cotton pillowcase and is easily included in your everyday bed linen. We not only found that the pillow helped our skin stay clear on our face, but it also actively helped the sensitive skin on the scalp. As a result, we’ve found that irritations and spots are far less regular and skin feels smoother and more clear. It’s an easy way to fight spots while you sleep and definitely worth a try for those of you fighting acne on a daily basis.

3) Workout 15 Minutes Per Day

Exercise is a great way to keep skin healthy. It increases blood flow around the body which natural aids skin health by nourishing epidermal cells, the result being a more natural glow. The increased blood flow allows for any waste materials or toxins present to be carried away rather than sitting within skin cells and ultimately resulting in spots. Its best to make sure you do between 15 and 30 minutes of exercise every day to keep skin in its best condition.

4) Get A Nutritious Diet

Focus on implementing a diet that includes a variety of vitamins and proteins to help aid healthy skin cell production. Including vegetables, fruits, nuts and beans into your weekly diet will help keep your skin clear and reduce the amount of oils present on the skin. Try to stay clear of fried foods, fish and fatty meats as these will make the skin more oily and increase the likelihood of spots developing. A temporary vegan lifestyle is recommended to anyone who suffers from extreme cases of acne as this should help fight inflammation and flair ups in the future.
