After our preview of the Oliver Sweeney/Russell & Bromley SS15 collections we are continuing to treat you to more footwear for future seasons. We were fortunate enough to be invited along to see the Clarks Spring/Summer 2015 collections in Covent Garden, allowing us to get a glimpse of their newest designs, styles and get an idea of where Clarks are taking their male footwear. That’s right, happy half-birthday to The Male Stylist! After 6 months, 88 articles, 2000+ tweets, 1200+ followers, a fair few blogger collaborations and over 18,000 hits, the site has reached a big milestone. It’s been lots of hard work, plenty of late nights and a tonnes of fun. This is by no means the end for The Male Stylist, I’m only growing the blog from here, but I wanted to take a moment to thank some people who, with their help and support, made sure The Male Stylist was here today. We were fortunate enough to be invited to the SS15 shows for Oliver Sweeney and Russell & Bromley last Thursday to see their upcoming collections and discuss the inspirations behind their designs. We’ll not say a lot about each range as we feel the shoes themselves do all of the talking. View Post
On Saturday, we decided to have a gentle stroll around Somerset House for a few hours after being invited to a nearby event celebrating fashion startups by Shopcade. The beautiful afternoon sunshine and fantastically stylish attendees were all gathered to celebrate the ever-changing industry of British fashion and its growing influence. We’ve put together a few photos we took throughout the day and a few of the stylists we saw walking around. View Post
Every year there are a variety of high-end seasonal fashion shows conducted around Central London with exclusive guest lists and premium pricing, although glamorous and stylish they are often beyond the reach of the everyday gent who may not have the money to buy himself a seat. As a result, we’ve put together 3 menswear fashion events going on around London that almost anyone can attend and won’t break the bank when you ask for a ticket. This season, if you want to get involved in the menswear scene then here are some of the best and most accessible events in London for gents to attend.
Drapers Independent Awards 2014 – Wednesday 17th September
Every year Drapers celebrate the most innovative and successful independent fashion retailers across the UK in the form of their Independents Awards. Organised by Drapers and hosted within The Brewery in Barbican, it is a great example of the industry celebrating both the bigger and smaller independent brands who strive to make the British Fashion industry a better place for consumers.
With menswear award shortlists that include Barbour, Gant, Tommy Hilfiger and Fynch Hatton, as well as much smaller players like Louis Copeland, you’re bound to see some great fashion innovations on the night. You’re also likely to meet some of the minds behind the brands making it a perfect place to build industry relations.
For more innovation on single seats, half-table and full-table reservations contact Lucy Trevor on email@example.com. View Post
