Review: Mankind Black Friday Box

temp-4

With Black Friday landing at the end of this week many of you will be looking for some of the best deals on men’s grooming, skincare and haircare. No doubt, there are a variety of retailers and brands to check out but it would appear that Mankind have done the majority of the legwork for you. Already a giant in the male grooming community, their Black Friday Offers page hosts a plethora of products with great discounts to help you stock up your bathroom (and purchase a few gifts) before Christmas.

I was gifted a few of these products and put them to the test this week to see if you still get value from the savings. The 6 products were Jack Black’s Double Duty Face Moisturizer, Korres Fig Shower Gel, Ab Crew Shave Cream, Redken Maneuver Working Wax, Men-U Deep Clean Clay Mask and Mazorin Liquid Asset Eye Serum. With the entire box coming in at £98, and considering the quality of the brands enclosed, the value was already quite visible.

So here is a quick run-down of what I thought of each product and whether they will become permanent fixtures on the bathroom shelf. If nothing else, Black Friday sales are a great time to try new products. View Post

Our Top 4 Winter Fragrances For Men

IMG_4061

As Christmas approaches and the Winter season gets into full swing the heat of the summer seasons is replaced by cold, crisp days and warm, comfortable evenings indoors. This change affects both the way men dress and the fragrances they wear as we replace cool and fresh scents with warm fragrances that compliment the more layered wardrobes being worn.

We’ve been reviewing a variety of fragrances over the past month to find some reliable scents that will work all year-round as well as some hidden treasures that suit this season of frosty air and dark evenings. Here are our favourites with some advice on when and where to wear them. View Post

Review: The AG Hair Range

IMG_3933

AG Hair starts out with an interesting premise in the way that they formulate and design their product ranges. They aim to create haircare  that combines elements of fashion, styling and modern culture, forming a product that fits with modern trends yet remains timeless through its versatility. More importantly, each of the products sold by AG Hair sends a percentage of its profits to help build schools for girls in Africa.

We were intrigued by AG Hair,  and so they gifted us a variety of products from their men’s grooming collection to test and trial. We’ve put together a summary of our thoughts and a few of our favourite products based on our usual review criteria. View Post

Review: The Flint+Flint Skincare Range

The Flint+Flint skincare range sets out with the ambitious, and somewhat risky, aim of being a spa-quality skincare product that will be just as attractive to both men and women. This is by no means a simple task, subtle differences in fragrance or texture can make a product more appealing to men than women and vice-versa. Even making the packaging appropriate for a unisex market is a big ask for any skincare range, so Flint+Flint had set themselves quite a challenge before they’d even got started.

We’ve been gifted a selection of their products over the past two weeks to see if they would be appropriate for a man’s skincare regime and how they actually perform as individual products. Here is a summary of what we found: View Post
